The people of Nizamabad are surely on a shopping spree, the indication of which is the bustling market areas in the town.

Bodhan road, Quilla road, Ahmedipura Colony, Nehru Park and Gandhichowk are bursting at the seams with people who begin their shopping before dusk which goes on till late night. Youth, particularly students, throng shops selling haleem after meghrib (prayer at sunset) and isha (night prayer). Such short visits to the market place have also become an excuse for youngsters to catch up on things both trivial and important.

Burqa-clad women are seen going in groups to shops selling various items like fruits, vegetables and other favourites of the season, notwithstanding the increase in prices of articles in general. People are of the opinion that the prices of some articles have doubled this year compared with the last year.

But that is not a deterrent as denizens feel that they should take delight in savouring mouth-watering dishes offered only during the season. Besides, the pleasant weather since the past few days has let people loosen up and enjoy the holy month. Last year, people faced inconvenience during Ramzan due to hot weather, but they hardly have anything to complain about this time.
