Provide gunmen to ex-MLAs: HC

Justice M. S. Ramachandra Rao of the Telangana High Court on Friday directed the State government to provide security to former legislators Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali of Warangal.

The two leaders should be provided with gunmen (two plus two for each), the order said. Konda Surekha, who won the Warangal East Assembly seat on the TRS ticket in 2014, quit the party before the election and joined the Congress. Both her husband and she contested on the Congress ticket in the recent election and lost. After the couple lost elections, the government withdrew their gunmen., stating that they had no threat perception. Challenging this, the couple moved the High Court.
