The permanent campus at Gangasthan Phase-II of Ramakrishna Seva Samithi here will come up with all facilities like meditation centre, library, book stall, Vivekananda Bhavan, audio visual rooms to organize programmes on the lines of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in Hyderabad.
The campus was expected to be ready in two years, said S. N. Chary, president of the local unit of the Samithi.
Established in 2003 to popularize ideals of Swami Vivekananda such character and strength of mind, the Seva Samithi here was making untiring efforts undertaking multiple activities, he said.
To take up all activities in a big way and to cater to the entire the district and nearby areas, construction of dhyan mandir and Vivekananda Bhavan began on a sprawling 2,000 square yards, he said.
He said the Samiti, without waiting for the permanent campus, had begun conducting classes in meditation, personality development training and spoken English, and was extending financial aid to poor students besides philanthropic activities. It was running a library also, he said.
The Samithi was also providing free accommodation to 12 students pursuing graduation, says Thota Rajashekar, secretary.
The Samithi had also run a school for five years for the benefit of poor children at Ambedkar Colony and distributed slates, books and other requirements free of cost. The Ramakrishna Vidyanikethan was still running successfully.
