Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao has said that AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi will undertake Rythu Bharosa Yatra in Medak and Adilabad districts to give assurance to the farming community on the payment of suitable compensation for their crop loss. He, however, said that his schedule of visit and areas to be visited were not yet finalised. In all probability, it could be in the second week of this month. He appealed to Congress cadres and people to attend Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra on a big scale.

Talking to reporters at Armoor on Sunday, Mr. Hanumantha Rao said that he had gone around areas in Karimnagar district, Medak and Nirmal in Adilabad district where Rahul was likely to interact with farmers. The Congress leader will console farmers who lost their crops due to the recent rains and gales in both districts, he said.

Strongly condemning the efforts of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre to make amendments to the Land Acquisition Act-2013 enacted by the UPA government, he said that Mr. Rahul Gandhi was drumming up the support of farmers and people at large across the country to oppose tooth and nail the changes to the Act.
