Former MP Boyinapalli Vinod Kumar, lawyer by profession, has been appointed Vice Chairman of State Planning Board for a tenure of three years. Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao has the signed file related to the appointment here on Friday. Chief Minister is the Chairman of the Planning Board.
Mr.Vinod Kumar who contested as ruling TRS candidate from Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency suffered a shock defeat in the recent Lok Sabha elections at the hands of BJP candidate Bandi Sanjay by a margin of over 90,000 votes.
Mr.Chandrasekhar Rao chose Mr. Vinod Kumar, one of the founding members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi,, for the key post taking his rich experience into account. As the government will present the full-fledged budget for the year 2019-20, Mr..Vinod Kumar was asked to review all the matters related to government departments and formulate the proposals.
The Vice Chairman of Planning Board will have a Cabinet rank and he would also be a permanent invitee to the Cabinet meetings.
Mr.Chandrasekhar Rao said that Mr.Vinod Kumar has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board to utilise his understanding about the geographical, social and financial aspects of Telangana State apart from his experience in State politics and administrative matters, according to a release.
