Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said the country and Telangana State are in deep crisis due to the misrule of Bharatiya Janata Party and Telangana Rashtra Samithi, respectively, and urged people to teach a fitting lesson to the two parties.

Mr. Naidu addressed several street-corner meetings and conducted road-shows in the Rajendranagar and Kukatpally Assembly constituencies in support of the TDP candidates on Saturday with an appeal to people that BJP had betrayed the two Telugu States while TRS had deceived Telangana people.

“When Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao has failed in fulfilling the promises made in his 2014 manifesto, where is the need to release a fresh one now,” he asked.

Stating that he had never claimed that he had built Hyderabad, Mr. Naidu, however, said it was he who had developed Cyberabad, Hi-tech City, Outer Ring Road, flyovers, first greenfield airport in the country, Financial District, Indian School of Business. “But, KCR has built only Pragathi Bhavan and developed his farmhouse,” Mr. Naidu remarked.

Rebutting both Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K.T. Rama Rao for asking as what business he (Naidu) has in Telangana, the TDP chief said development of IT sector in Hyderabad was his brainchild and he would always work for the development of two Telugu-speaking States. He alleged that the TRS had pushed Telangana into a debt trap by increasing the debt from 12% to 23% of income, whereas in AP he had reduced debt burden to 25% from 36% of income.

“The misrule of KCR had made a rich Telangana into debt-ridden State,” Mr. Naidu noted and said the youth are very angry against the TRS for not providing any employment opportunities. He also blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for removal of KCR's name from a charge-sheet of a Labour Ministry case filed by the CBI.

Targeting both YSR Congress and Jana Sena Party alleging that the leaderships of the two parties are supporting TRS clandestinely in this election, Mr. Naidu said defeating both TRS and BJP and ensuring victory of People's Front would be a lesson to those two parties too. He announced that the People's Front Government, if formed, would float a corporation for the development of Kapus.

Mr. Naidu told people that victory of Nandamuri Suhasini contesting from Kukatpally would be a fitting tribute to her father and TDP leader late Nandamuri Harikrishna, who had a significant role in “steering” TDP to popularity when the party was floated.
