Amid negative propaganda, Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary, who represents this constituency, said the visible development he had brought would help him win comfortably.

“My contribution is visible and I am confident of winning this Assembly election,” he told The Hindu .

Connectivity enhanced

There was no bus station but now there is one, as well as a bus depot. People waited for that one bus in the morning and the evening. Now the town has 90 buses plying in various directions, connecting Bhupalpally on all sides.

Mr. Chary said it was after formation of separate Telangana and the TRS government in the State that Bhupalpally constituency witnessed such development on all fronts. Busy with door-to-door campaigning for the upcoming election, he said that during his campaign he would not appeal to the people to vote for him; rather, he would ask about their well being and move on.

“People know that I am their leader and what I have done for them. I am not visiting their homes for the first time as part of this campaign. I have been visiting them for the past four years and will continue to do so in the future,” he said.

Plus points

Among his plus points, he says most of his time is spent moving in villages and for the past over 90 days, he has been sleeping at villages during nights as part of his ‘Palle Nidra’.

For more than 250 days in a year, I am available to the people here,” he explained, contending that the opposition candidates hold no chance against him
