Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar has assured to take all measures for the completion of the ambitious railway line from Kothapalli to Manoharabad via Sircilla and Siddipet towns within next five years period.
At a meet the press programme organised by Telangana State Union of Working Journalists affiliated to IJU in Press Bhavan in Karimnagar on Monday, the MP said “We are giving land to the railways and also bearing one-third of the project cost. Besides, the State government had also agreed to bear the annuity for a period of five years, he said, and added that literally the Telangana State government would be constructing the railway project and take all measures for its early completion.
Asked about the proposed sanction of the Government Medical College in Karimnagar, he said that Ramagundam legislator S. Satyanarayana and Karimnagar legislator G. Kamalakar were striving for the sanction of medical college in Ramagundam and Karimnagar respectively.
On the proposal of Sainik School in Karimnagar district, he said the Sainik School was proposed by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao when he was then MP of Karimnagar Parliament Constituency.
The Seemandhra leaders had taken away two Sainik Schools to Kadapa and Chittoor districts, he said, and added that the Telangana government was striving hard to get Sainik School to Karimnagar district. He said that the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Sircilla textile town would start functioning from June 2015 academic year onwards.
On providing irrigation sources to the upland regions of Karimnagar district, he said that they were taking all measures to ensure that the Pranahita Chevella project was declared as national project.
He alleged that the Seemandhra government had not constructed barrages at the Pranahita-Chevella, Mid-Manair Dam (MMD) reservoir and siphoned off crores of rupees by digging canals to benefit contractors. He said that Chief Minister had entrusted him the job of declaring the Pranahita-Chevella as the national projects by securing all clearances.
Legislator B. Shoba, TRS district president Eda Shankar Reddy and others were also present.
