With just three days to go for last date for filing nominations for Parliament elections and Friday being auspicious, several candidates from all the parties filed their nominations.
Of the 220 nominations filed in the State 162 were filed on Friday. Nizambad constituency received the highest nominations of 54 taking the total to 61.
TPCC working president and Malkajgiri Congress candidate A. Revanth Reddy took out a huge rally in Keesara where he submitted his nomination papers along with his supporters. Later, he told his supporters to spare 20 days to ensure Congress wins and Rahul Gandhi becomes Prime Minister. Telangana will not gain anything if Telangana Rashtra Samithi wins, he said and accused the TRS of fielding filthy rich candidates ignoring those who fought for Telangana.
TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy filed his papers for Nalgonda constituency while former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy filed for Bhongir constituency as Congress candidates. They both appealed to the voters to ensure Congress wins and forms government at the Centre as regional parties like TRS have little role in the formation of Central government.
Chevella Congress candidate Konda Vishweshwer Reddy also filed his nomination papers at Rajendra Nagar MRO office. Later addressing the media he invited good leaders from the TRS like A.P. Jithender Reddy and T. Harish Rao to join the Congress for development of Telangana.
Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavita filed her nomination seeking a second term and later told the cadre that her win will help in completing the unfinished development agenda of Nizamabad constituency.
TRS Mahbubabad candidate Maloth Kavita also filed her nomination. Others TRS candidates who completed the process today included Medak candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Bhongir nominee Boora Narsaiah Goud.
