Special Olympics Bharat athletes had their fan moment as Braun Strowman, one of the big names in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), descended on a five-star hotel in the city on as a special guest.
Popularly referred to as ‘Monster Among Men’, Strowman spent some time interacting with the athletes, who were visibly thrilled to have him in their midst. They presented miniatures of the city’s most famous landmark, Charminar, besides a specially designed shawl to the American wrestler.
Later, Strowman visited the Cancer Institute at the Apollo Hospital in the city to meet ‘little champions’ fighting a different battle. On seeing him, there was unbridled joy on the inmates’ faces.
He spoke about the WWE’s efforts to step up talent recruitment in India and the launch of www.wweperformancecenter.com as milestones in WWE’s global recruitment strategy. The website gives an overview of the state-of-the-art 26,000 square-foot WWE Performance Center in Orlando while highlighting all that it has to offer to prospective talent.
