Mehendi contest, a big hit

There was an overwhelming response to the mehendi competitions conducted by the district administration as part of the ongoing Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at Revenue Gardens in Karimnagar on Friday.

Women and young girls participated enthusiastically in the mehendi competitions. Joint Collector Pausumi Basu inspected the competitions and praised the participants for their participation.

The authorities had also announced prizes to the participants. DRDA Project Director Arunsri, TSMIP Project Director Sangeetha Laxmi, AD (horticulture) Jyothi, Assistant Labour Officer Neelima and others were also present.

Karimnagar legislator Gangula Kamalakar along with Mayor S Ravinder Singh inaugurated the youth festival at the SRR Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar town, today.

The students participated in various cultural programmes as part of the celebrations.
