Maharashtra Governor urged to extend Centre’s aid to TS

BJP senior leaders led by the party development community chairman Loka Bhoopathi Reddy met the Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidya Sagar Rao at his residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday and urged him to use his good offices to prevail upon the Centre to extend assistance to the new State of Telangana liberally to meet the expenditure on various pending projects.

Talking to The Hindu , Mr. Bhoopathi Reddy said that the team of party leaders comprising former Minister Nerella Anjaneyulu, former MLA Yendala Lakshminarayana and Srinivas from Metpally apprised Mr. Rao of various challenges the new State was facing and the need of help from the Centre to overcome them successfully.

He said the leaders appealed to the Governor to prevail upon the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider the conferment of national project status on the Pranahitha-Chevella project besides, assisting to other pending projects.

They also called upon him to look into the problems of workers migrated to Mumbai, Sholapur, Surat and Biwandi and to the Middle East from Telangana in search of employment.

The senior lawyer said that they brought to the notice of Mr. Vidyasagar Rao the difficulties of workers in Gulf and suggested to him to discuss the matter with the Centre.
