The TRS was said to be mulling dispatching letters to one crore people in the State in the name of party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, explaining the schemes taken up by the government in the last four and a half years.

The party was of the view that of the total population of two and a half crore people in the State, at least one crore would be direct beneficiaries of government schemes in one way or the other. Many of them would have reaped the benefits of four or five initiatives of the government.

As the Telangana sentiment would no longer work in the coming elections, the party has decided to highlight development as its plank with focus on continuing the good work already undertaken by the government. A conscious effort will be made in the letters to compare the development in the present regime as against in the past in the combined State. Mr. Rao will appeal to people through the letters to ensure the victory of TRS in this background, sources said.

Topping the list of achievements will be the financial assistance of ₹8,000 an acre for farmers as investment support for agriculture. About 50 lakh of them would have benefited not only from this scheme but also the one to extend life insurance coverage of ₹five lakh. An equal number of people would have also undergone screening of eyes taken up by government last month.

The party was credited with the view that there would be at least two persons in each family who were beneficiaries of government initiatives. There were also government employees, outsourced staff and workers who gained from pay hike.

The letters will also go into efforts of the government to tide over the power crisis within six months of the party coming to power. Without raising power tariff, the government had supplied 24 hour quality power to all sections.
