The Telangana State Election Commission has revised the last date for preparation and publication of ward wise photo electoral rolls for municipal corporations and municipalities to July 16.

The Commission has earlier notified Sunday as the last date for preparation of ward wise photo electoral rolls for Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Ramagundam municipal corporations and 129 municipalities for the conduct of ordinary elections. However, some of the district collectors and district election authorities requested the commission to extend the last date of publication of the rolls accurately.

The sought the extension claiming that some discrepancies occurred in the preparation of the ward wise electoral rolls in the urban local bodies. The Commission, after examining the request made by the district collectors and election authorities, had decided to extend the final date for publication of the electoral rolls. In a notification, it had asked the commissioners of municipal corporations and municipalities to take necessary action to complete the preparation and publication of the rolls by Monday.
