KTR donates ₹50L to Pulwama martyrs’ kin

Half of it came from personal funds

TRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Sunday visited the CRPF southern regional headquarters here and handed over a cheques for ₹50 lakh to the Inspector General G.H.P. Raju as contribution to the families of CRPF personnel killed in the Pulwama terror attack.

Mr. Rao told Mr. Raju he was giving ₹25 lakh from his own funds and an equal amount collected fromthree friends. His contribution was not meant as one from the party working president or MLA of Sircilla but as a citizen of the country, he said.

A programme was arranged on the occasion at which a two-minute silence was observed in memory of the jawans. Later, Mr. Rao interacted with CRPF jawans posted at the headquarters.
