Continuing the spree of making political appointments to various corporations and other agencies, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday named chairpersons of eight more corporations.

According to officials, the eight corporations and their new chairpersons are: Telangana State Road Development Corporation - Tumukunta Narsareddy, former legislator from Gajwel; TS Women Cooperative Finance Corporation - Gundu Sudharani, former MP from Warangal; TS Housing Corporation - Madupu Bhoom Reddy from Medak; and TS Tribal Cooperative Corporation - Gandhi Naik from Warangal.

The Telangana State Film, TV and Theatre Development Corporation got Pushkar Rammohan Rao from Mandamarri-Adilabad as its chief; TS Handicapped Development Corporation will be headed by K. Vasudev Reddy, a Kakatiya University student leader; Musi River Front Development Corporation gets Prem Singh Rathod, former MLA from Goshamahal as its Chairman; and TS Technical Services Corporation will be headed by Chirumilla Rakesh Kumar, a Osmania University student leader hailing from Peddapalli.

Party posts

Meanwhile, its a double delight for Ms. Sudha Rani, who switched over to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) from Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as Mr. Rao appointed her also as the TRS Women’s Wing president. Similarly, Gellu Srinivas Yadav, a student leader from Osmania University hailing from Karimnagar district, has been appointed president of the TRS Students’ Wing.

Official sources stated that the Chief Minister had also considered former Chairperson of Medak District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) G. Election Reddy’s name for the appointment as chairperson of another corporation. However, it was not finalised since Mr. Reddy is on a tour of the U.S. and it would be finalised once he returns home.
