Karimnagar police take up restoration of Yellamma tank

It was really a dream come true for the villagers of Chinna Lingapur in Sircilla mandal with the district police adopting the village for developmental works and launching the Mission Kakatiya programme of reviving the defunct Yellamma tank in the village on Wednesday.

The entire district police machinery had arrived in the village to take up the revival of the Yellamma tank and strengthen the bund to provide irrigation facilities to 200 acres in the village. The police had deployed 10 poclains and 50 tractors for the removal of silt and strengthening of the bund.

Launching the programme in the village, Warangal Range IG Naveen Chand said that they would take up the programme as a movement and develop the villages and called upon the villagers to play an active part.

He also thanked the government for involving the police in the noble programme of reviving the village tanks. Karimnagar Range DIG B Malla Reddy, Superintendent of Police V Shiva Kumar, OSD L Subbarayudu, DSP Damera Narsaiah, and all sub-divisional police officers were also present.
