‘Jodeghat will be put on tourist map’

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday affirmed that the idyllic village of Jodeghat will be developed as a world class tourist destination located in 100 acres of land. The development will include construction of cottages for visitors besides laying a new double lane black topped road on the 22-km stretch between Hatti base camp and Jodeghat.

Addressing a mammoth gathering of Adivasis at the 74th martyrdom anniversary of Gond leader Kumram Bheem, the Chief Minister also talked of establishing a tribal university and naming it after the martyr.

“The new entity which will emerge after bifurcation of Adilabad district in future will also be named after Kumram Bheem,” he promised. Mr. Rao sanctioned Rs. 25 crore for constructing a samadhi for the martyr.
