The Forum for IT Employees (FITE) on Thursday said that an IT firm did not pay salaries to about 50 of its employees and also retained their original qualification certificates.

According to FITE Telangana convenor C. Vinod Kumar, for the past several months the firm Tejwin Software Solutions (TSS), had not paid its employees their salaries. It also collected a ‘deposit’ of ₹ 50,000 from employees.

Employees of the company, he said, were also made to sign a bond in which they said that they would work for a period of one year.

“Many of the employees are freshers and were under the impression that they would be working as Android app developers. It appears that the company had few projects. When salaries were not paid, the employees requested that their original certificates be returned to them,” Mr. Kumar said.

He said that it was only later in the day that the management came forward for a round of discussions. “They have said that they would return the certificates and pay their salaries in full,” Mr. Kumar said.

When contacted, TSS projects manager Srisaikumar Yugandhar said, “We have settled the issue with the employees. We will be handing over post-dated cheques to them. The certificates have already been returned and the issue is settled.”
