‘Iran ready to strengthen ties with Telangana’

The Mayor of Mashhad, Iran, Solat Mortazavi, on Wednesday requested the IT Minister, K. Taraka Rama Rao, to take the initiative in introducing a separate flight from Hyderabad to Tehran and Mashhad city.

At a meeting on the sidelines of the ongoing XI Metropolitan World Congress here on Wednesday, Mr. Mortazavi expressed Iran’s readiness to extend all cooperation for strengthening of ties with Telangana and offered to hold skill and tourism development programmes.

Cultural exhibitions

In view of the large Muslim population in Hyderabad, the Mayor also wanted Mr. Rao to take measures to arrange reciprocal cultural exhibitions with the participation of youth in large numbers to further develop the bilateral ties.

Urban development

In his meeting with the Minister, the ongoing Metropolis World Congress president, Jean Paul Huchon, shared his views on urban development and smart city initiatives, while Deputy Mayor of Berlin Barbara Berninger, an expert on the smart cities, discussed aspects on building and developing smart cities, according to a press release.
