The four-day 10th general conference of South Central Zone Insurance Employee’s Federation organised by the Insurance Corporation Employees Union (ICEU) Karimnagar division got off to a colourful start in Karimnagar on Wednesday evening.

The association leaders belonging to the Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka arrived in large numbers for the meeting.

Earlier, the employees wearing red colour dress carrying banners and placards took out a massive colourful rally opposing the foreign direct investment in the insurance sector.

The rally was converged into a meeting at the Padmanayaka Kalyana Mandapam.

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar participated as chief guest. ICEU national president Amanullah Khan, ICEU Karimnagar general secretary K. Venugopal Rao and others were also present.

The cultural troupes from Mahabubnagar, Hyderabad, Bellampalli and Machilipatnam, had spread the message about the ill-effects of FDIs in insurance.
