Indian envoys to study State programmes

MEA sponsored scheme to promote Indian States abroad

The next three days will see ambassadors and high commissioners of four countries and a delegation of United Arab Emirates led by its Foreign Affairs Minister visiting Hyderabad for an insight into development here.

The visit of the diplomats on Wednesday and Thursday was sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs as part of a programme to promote Indian States abroad.

They include the Ambassador to Laos People’s Democratic Republic Ravi Shankar Aisola, Indian High Commissioner in Seychelles Ausaf Sayeed, Ambassador to Finland Vani Rao and Ambassador to Peru M. Subbarayudu.

They will also meet Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan. and proceed to the Secretariat where Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and principal secretaries of various department will make presentation on government programmes, sources said.

The diplomats will also visit Tata Aerospace Special Economic Zone on Wednesday and wind up their tour on Thursday after going to T-Hub, Amazon, Apple, Google and some IT companies in Hi-tech city.

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will lead a 12 member delegation, including UAE Ambassador to India Ahmed Al Banna, on Thursday and Friday. It will meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on the first day and visit Salarjung Museum. On the second day, they will go to Hi-tech city.
