Health cover for advocates’ children too

Law Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy has announced that health insurance scheme will be extended to the children of advocates.

The Law Minister who held a review meeting at the Secretariat on the welfare of lawyers said that till now the health insurance scheme was extended to the advocate and his or her spouse but now Telangana State Advocates Welfare Trust took a decision to extend the benefit to the children of lawyers too.

He directed the officers to discuss with insurance agencies and select the company to implement the insurance scheme that would quote most reasonable premium .

Mr.Indrakaran Reddy said that a total of 55,550 health cards would be issued to advocates, their spouses and two children. The cards would be issued soon for the year 2019-20.

Last year health cards were issued to 18,404 advocates and 945 availed the benefits under the scheme and government paid ₹5 crore under Mediclaim.
