Haryana wins gold in handball tourney

Haryana bagged the gold at the 31st National Sub-Junior Girls Handball Tourney held between January 18 and 23 at Mancherial in Adilabad district. The Haryana team defeated the Sports Authority of India (SAI) team by 13 to 12 to win the gold at the final played on Friday.

Among the 16 teams which participated, Karnataka stood in the third place when it defeated Telangana by 23 to 11.

The chief guest at the valedictory was Mancherial MLA N. Diwakar Rao.

The Handball Association State vice-president Gone Shamshunder Rao and State secretary K. Pavan Kumar also participated.
