Resonance Junior College team finishes runner-up with 65 marks

The team of the Harvest Junior College here clinched the first prize by putting up stellar performance at the regional round of The Hindu-Academic Pentathlon held on Saturday.

The 10-member team, represented by Lakshmi Prasanna, Muntha Sri, Sri Divya, Meenakshi, Amulya, Mukesh, Mahita Verma, Afreen, Chanchal and Likitha, emerged overall winner.

The team excelled in the scholastic competitions — maths quiz, physics quiz, chemistry quiz, elocution in English and fine arts (music and dance), achieving a maximum overall score of 80 marks in all the five disciplines.

The Resonance Junior College team finished runner-up with 65 marks. The 10-member team comprised M Priyanka, K Akshaya, D Yamini, M Vasavi, K Hemanth, A Shivashankar, N Krishna, Shivani, Kaif and Revanth.

The event was organised by the The Hindu in association with Vignan University at Harvest Public School here. It saw enthusiastic participation of a total of 28 teams from various colleges.

The two teams qualified for the Grand Finale to be held at Vignan University at Vadlamudi in Guntur disstrict of Andhra Pradesh, soon. Members of both teams displayed in-depth grasp of fundamental concepts of maths, physics and chemistry.

District Educational Officer Madhan Mohan gave away trophies, medals and merit certificates to the winners and runners-up teams at a ceremony held on Saturday evening.

Harvest School correspondent Ravi Maruth, principal R Parvathi Reddy, and quiz master Shanampoodi Gandhi Babu were present.
