‘Harassed’ constable fires in air

An APSP constable of the 13th battalion based at Gudipeta near Mancherial town fired 20 rounds in air on Friday reportedly perturbed over harassment by his officers.

The incident took place within the campus when the constable, S. Adellu, climbed over a building and emptied the magazine of his SLR rifle.

Adellu, an APSP constable of 2009 batch, belongs to Adilabad. He has reportedly been complaining of harassment since a few months.

Taken into custody

The constable was being held in custody at Hajipur police station. Investigation into the incident has been launched.
