Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etela Rajender has said that all measures were being taken to overcome the power shortage and also achieve surplus energy position, for which the Government aimed at spending Rs.45,000 crore in next three years.
Laying foundation for the 33/11 kv sub-station at Gundenemli village in Bichkunda mandal, on Thursday evening, the Minister said that once the this sub-station was completed three villages including Wajidnagar and Banda Renjal will have no low voltage problem. An amount of Rs.1 crore was allocated for the sub-station, he said.
Appealing to all the elected representatives to feel as it was their responsibility to supervise the implementation of innovative schemes and programmes introduced by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Minister said that they all were intended to achieve Golden Telangana ensuring comfortable life for the people of the State. Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that under the Mission Kakatiya in the district as many as 701 tanks would be revived this year. Even if these programmes were implanted if there was no good monsoon irrigation and power problems could not be solved, he felt.
To maintain greenery the government decided to plant 230 crore saplings across the State and the saplings would be supplied to people free of cost, said Mr. Reddy. MLA Hanmanth Shinde presided over the meeting. Member of Parliament B.B. Patil, ZP Chairman D. Raju, MLC D. Rajeswar and Joint Collector Ravinder Reddy also spoke.
