Super-speciality hospitals in Hyderabad which are not participating in cashless health insurance scheme for government employees, will not be eligible for the Arogyasri scheme, Deputy Chief Minister T. Rajaiah said here on Thursday. The government has also postponed the implementation of the scheme till Nov. 30, which means that the earlier system of reimbursement of medical bills will continue till the month end.
The Deputy Chief Minister, while interacting with press persons after a review of Arogyasri, brushed aside the demand of corporate hospitals to increase tariffs by at least 30 to 40 per cent. “This is a prestigious insurance scheme covering close to 16 lakh government employees and their families. Only 12 super specialty hospitals have not entered into an agreement while 230 hospitals are ready to provide their services. There is no question of any hike in tariffs,” said Dr. Rajaiah. On the ongoing medical strike of medicos, he urged junior doctors to join duty. “We request medicos to join duty. Almost all demands of medicos have been met. For a government, it is impossible to provide permanent jobs to medicos,” he said.
