The State government is ready to spend any amount for revival of rural economy and welfare of people, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said.

Distributing buffaloes to selected farmers at Mulkanoor village in Bheemadevarpalli here on Saturday, he said rural people have great potential to create wealth, provided they get a little help. The women groups in Mulkanoor proved themselves. The State government has been giving a subsidy of ₹ 60 lakh to Mulknoor diary every year. “Now the government has decided to spend another ₹10,000 crore for distributing sheep and buffaloes. As many as 23,000 members of Mulkanoor diary will get buffaloes which will improve their financial condition greatly,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister E. Rajender said farmers should focus on agriculture allied activities as well. “Mulkanoor, which started as a cooperative movement, has become a brand now in the country,” he pointed out.

Member of Parliament B. Vinod Kumar said the distribution of cattle and buffaloes was conceived by the TRS party long ago. “We are importing meat, sheep, milk and everything from other States. This is wrong. Hence, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has come up with these ideas which will go a long way in reviving the traditional vocations and rejuvenate the rural economy,” he said.

MLA V. Satish said under the TRS regime, every section of society is being taken care of. It was decided to spend ₹ 23 crore to bring under cultivation 20,000 acres in Husnabad constituency.

District Collector K. Amrapali and others officials were present.
