Recognising that internet usage has become unavoidable in the day-to-day affairs, the temple administration of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Yadagirigutta, has decided to soon provide wi-fi connectivity to pilgrims on the hill shrine.

Speaking to The Hindu , Executive Officer N. Geetha said that following the State Government’s decision to provide wi-fi connectivity around Tank Bund in Hyderabad, they too have discussed on the need and feasibility of providing internet facility on the hill shrine. Ms. Geetha said that Reliance Communications has come forward to provide wi-fi connectivity at free of cost.

Since the temple administration also wants to make ticket booking, accommodation booking online, the Executive Officer said the connectivity would help pilgrims check the status.

However, she clarified that there will be no connectivity inside the temple.

She further said that they have also discussed the possibility of automatic disconnection to a particular laptop after a maximum of 35 to 40 minutes.

The officials of the company have started the survey and are taking measurements for installing optic fibre cables and other material.

Initially, the facility will be available around 100 meters from the main temple. The works are to commence shortly.
