Five injured in accident

Five CPI (M) delegates sustained serious injuries as the vehicle in which they were travelling veered off the road at Konda Mallepally village of Devarakonda mandal on Nagarjunasagar-Hyderabad road here on Sunday.

The victims were proceeding in a SVU to Nagarjunasagar to attend the party’s three-day plenary that commenced on Sunday. The injured were identified as Balu, Jaipal, Ramachandar, Mallesh and Latif, party activists from Hyderabad. Party Polit Bureau member B.V. Raghavulu, and State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, who were passing through, stopped for a while, and arranged vehicles to shift the injured to Hyderabad for better treatment after providing first-aid at Devarakonda area hospital.
