Satya Phanindra Saibewar, a final year student of B.Tech at the Vijaya Rural Engineering College here, was awarded the ‘Best Leader for his inspirational talk delivered at the Yuva Summit-2015 held recently at Deshpande Foundation in Hubli of Karnataka.
He received tremendous applause for his talk from the gathering of over 2,000 students and others arrived from various parts of the country. On the same day evening, he presented his concepts over the leadership qualities which the youth need to imbibe to change society at the Gateway, Taj Hubli.
Inspired by the Lead concept Phanindra has been taking part actively in its programmes for the last two years. He has volunteered many events, taken up 15 social initiatives and completed the projects. More than 1,500 people have been benefited, over 30 students got inspired by him and joined LEAD programme. He has mentored about 20 students and documented 50 projects.
His best project is Akshara Deepam, where he is helping 35 students to get educated with the help of Agatsya International Science foundation and with his other sources he had appointed a tutor to teach the slum minority children and also visiting the particular area frequently to empower children.
Students gathered in Yuva Summit exchanged their ideas and discussed about solving problems in Indian society. With the theme ‘Inspire’, ‘Innovate’ and ‘Engage’ the summit featured a variety of events to show just how the Lead has been changing communities by catalysing leadership development within the youth of India. Over 150 academics also participated.
Lead talk featured five students selected from six States. Among which four were from Karnataka and the young, inspiring leader Satya Phanindra Saibewar from VREC, Nizamabad, who represented the entire Telangana.
He received the Best Leader award from the hands of Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Infosis Narayana Moorthy, Gururaj Deshpande, and the Arjuna Award winner and brave lady Deepa Malik.
The VREC management, teaching and non-teaching staff and the Lead Foundation complimented him on his achievement.
