The Democratic Teachers Federation (DTF) has found fault with the State Government promoting some of the DEOs as the regional joint directors (RJDs) when there were several allegations and corruption charges against them.

The Federation State president M. Raghushankar Reddy and general secretary M.S. Kistappa on Tuesday said that the promoting the corrupt DEOs as RJDs was against the norms. Alleging that the then DEO of Karimnagar K. Lingaiah presently working in Adilabad district was involved in several corrupt practices and had resorted to several irregularities, they said Mr. Lingaiah had sanctioned six months’ maternity leave to a woman teacher when she was not pregnant. They said that several cases were pending against Mr. Lingaiah in the High Court and Lok Ayuktha and promoting him was contempt of court.
