Come clean on water grid scheme: TDP

October 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:04 am IST - ADILABAD:

The Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) on Tuesday joined issue on the Water Grid corruption demanding the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government to come clean on it. TDP National polit bureau member Ramesh Rathod accused the government of handing over the Water Grid contract to Mega Engineering company without calling for tenders. “This amounts to corruption,” he stated at a press conference here. “The talk of quitting politics is hollow,” he added referring to Panchayat Raj Minister K.T. Rama Rao’s contention made a day earlier at Nirmal.

Mr. Rathod accused the ruling party politicians of drawing bills without completing works under the Mission Kakatiya programme. “Does this not amount to corruption,” he questioned to buttress his contention that the TRS is indulging in corruption in all schemes.

Criticising the government for ignoring the interest of farmers, the TDP polit bureau member said about 1,600 farmers have committed suicide since the TRS took over the government.
