October 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Government Chief Whip Koppula Eshwar has dared the Opposition parties to an open debate on the TRS government’s welfare programmes and developmental works.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said that the people of Telangana were happy with the government and its welfare programmes. But the Opposition parties are scared of losing their identity and making false and baseless allegations on the development works, he stated.

He ridiculed the Opposition’s charges on Mission Kakatiya, Water Grid, fine rice scheme and others. He said that the TRS government was giving all benefits to people, which had been denied to them for six decades.

At another press conference, Jagtial Congress legislator T. Jeevan Reddy accepted the challenge and asked the Chief Whip to fix the date and venue to debate all issues. He said that the State government was scared of a debate in the Assembly.
