Farmers waiting for the bank to open at Indervelli in Adilabad district on Friday.

Farmers across the four districts which constituted old composite Adilabad withdrew their investment support money from banks without any hitch. The proceedings were orderly and the beneficiaries waited with patience for their turn to encash the cheques given to them under the Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Officials constantly monitored the process of farmers approaching the banks and the ease with which they withdrew the money. Adilabad Collector D. Divya went around visiting banks in town and interacted with farmers to ascertain if they were having any difficulty in withdrawal of money and other related aspects.

The beneficiaries who had been handed over the investment support cheques the previous day had reached respective banks much before the branches opened. Some farmers in rural areas like Indervelli mandal headquarters were seen sitting outside the bank shutters about an hour-and-a-half before the branch opened for the day.

The tents erected by banks had come as a great rescue factor for the waiting farmers.

High temperature was recorded during the day and shade and water were a welcome thing for the beneficiaries.
