Boy killed in accident

A six-year-old boy was killed and two others seriously injured when a speeding car hit them while they were waiting for an autorickshaw near Karunagiri Church on bypass road here on Saturday.

The police identified the deceased as Hitesh Reddy, 6, of Ramannapeta in Khammam rural mandal.

Hitesh and his aunt, Navitha, and her daughter, Kartika, were standing at Karunagiri bypass road when a car bound for Mahabubabad in Warangal district rammed them at a high speed in the afternoon.

Hitesh suffered grievous injuries and subsequently died while being taken to a hospital in the town.

Navitha and Kartika also received multiple injuries in the accident. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital. Their condition was stated to be serious. The Khammam traffic police registered a case and are investigating.
