The hot air ballooning expedition of Indian army, christened Jai Bharat, reached the city on Sunday.

Spirit of adventure

This is the longest ever ballooning expedition undertaken by the army, journeying from Jammu to Kanyakumari, to promote adventure activities.

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan participated in the aero show at NTR Grounds and interacted with the members of the expedition team.

A release said the expedition coincided with the 75th year of raising of Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers and 150th year of raising of 2 J&K Rifles Battalion.

The team will be halting at various places across the country and motivate people to join the army.
