AR constable suspended

Ramu, an Armed Reserve (AR) constable deputed as a driver in the AR unit’s Motor Transport section here has been placed under suspension for alleged negligence in shifting victims of a road accident to hospital.

The accident occurred at Chenjerla in Manakondur mandal of Karimnagar district on Friday when a police vehicle collided with a car resulting in injuries to a couple travelling in it. Three cops on board the police vehicle also sustained injuries.

The constable, who was returning to Khammam in a separate police vehicle carrying policemen after attending a VIP bandobust duty in Karimnagar district, came across the accident sitea few minutes later the same day. He allegedly failed to respond promptly in shifting the injured from the accident spot to a nearby hospital, sources said.

Khammam Police Commissioner Tafseer Iqbal on Tuesday issued orders for his suspension the cop on charge of alleged dereliction of duty.
