May 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Flaying the remarks made by Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao against the State government, TRS district president Eda Shankar Reddy demanded that the Congress party high command tender an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana before AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s yatra.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi should say sorry to the people of Karimnagar district for insulting former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao for not conducting his funeral in New Delhi, he said and threatened to obstruct the visit of Rahul Gandhi in the district.

Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he reminded that TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who was then MP, had demanded that the Congress government conduct the funeral of P.V. Narasimha Rao in New Delhi but in vain. He flayed Hanumantha Rao for not raising a voice for the cause of Narasimha Rao’s funeral in New Delhi.

He also clarified that the State government had opened procurement centres for the purchase of paddy and maize from farmers in the district. TRS leaders Katla Satish, Prabhavathi, Y. Sunil Rao and others were present.
