Student commits suicide at college

SIDDIPET: E. Bhavani, a 17-year-old intermediate student and native of Pullur village in Siddipet Rural mandal, has committed suicide by jumping from a building as she was beaten up by college principal Brahmananda Reddy.

The incident took place on Thursday at Sai Chaitanya College.

According to the police, another student of the college reported that ₹100 was missing and after a search it was reportedly found in Bhavani’s bag.

The college principal thrashed the teenager before the other students over the incident.

Feeling humiliated by the the punishment, Bhavani climbed the college building and jumped down.

She was seriously injured and died while being shifted to a hospital.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
