Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to discuss the ongoing agitation for the bifurcation of the High Court and judges’ strike, demanding withdrawal of the provisional list of subordinate judicial officers.
The meeting between the two lasted over an hour. Sources said it took place at the instance of the Governor.
The meeting assumed significance as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad Dilip B. Bhosale and Advocate General of Telangana K. Ramakrishna Reddy called on the Governor on Friday.
The Governor enquired about the developments following the suspension of about a dozen judicial officers and several judicial employees by the High Court during the last five days, and the agitation launched by the Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee, the Telangana High Court Advocates Association, the Federation of Bar Associations of Telangana and the Telangana Bar Council members against the allocation of A.P.-origin officers to Telangana.
The Acting Chief Justice of the Hyderabad High Court called on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Delhi to apprise him of the developments following agitation by advocates in Telangana.
