In a move that focusses on the wellbeing of students, the district administration began conducting medical tests to know the haemoglobin levels of girl students of classes 7 to 10.
The programme was inaugurated by District Medical and Health Officer Gayatri Devi and District Education Officer L. Chandrakala on Wednesday at the Zilla Parishad High School in the district headquarters town.
“This is the most important age for the girls, and we have decided to conduct haemoglobin tests. Depending on the requirement, medicines will be supplied,” Dr. Devi said.
Some of the students may be iron deficient and anaemic, she said.
