Foundation laid for cotton processing unit

ADILABAD: Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna on Wednesday laid foundation stone for a cotton processing unit on the premises of MARKFED organisation in the town. The ginning and pressing unit will be constructed within eight months at a cost of Rs. 5 crore.

Mr. Ramanna said that the Government had come forward to invest money in a cotton processing unit for the benefit of cotton farmers in the district. Government agencies would directly purchase cotton from farmers and get it processed here so that farmers are saved from the exploitation of the middlemen.
