Several Congress leaders criticised the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government for its alleged failure to implement promises made during the 2014 elections.

Participating in Jana Avedana Sabha held at the party office here on Monday District Congress Committee (DCC) president V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy said that both the State and Union Governments have been following anti-people’s policies which forced the Congress to hold these meetings.

“The TRS rule was more than 1,000 days old, it failed to fulfill even a single promise. What happened to the double bedroom houses?” asked Pradesh Congress Committee former president Ponnala Lakshmaiah. The methods being followed by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao have been creating hurdles in the construction of irrigation projects.

“The Congress had commenced construction of projects even before Mr. Rao had any thought of irrigation. Why the Chief Minister had failed to clear the ₹ 15,000-crore debts of farmers when the Government took loans to the tune ₹ 60,000 crore?” asked Mr. Lakshmaiah. The government failed even to fill the vacant posts, he said and added that the Chief Minister would remain as ‘traitor of Dalits’ in the history.

Zaheerabad MLA J. Geeta Reddy said that Mr. Rao should fulfil the promises he made to people as he was doing in the case of Gods at various locations.
