Young engineers told to play pivotal role in economic development

The Graduation Day of Knowledge Institutions, Salem, was held recently. The President of Knowledge Institute of Technology (KIOT) Trust, R. Kumarasamy, presided. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor, VIT University, Vellore, was the chief guest and Arruthra Venugopaal, Programme Manager, Tech Mahindra Ltd., Chennai, was the guest of honour. Mr. Viswanathan emphasized on Indian culture and style and also urged young engineers to play a pivotal role in the overall development of the country’s economy. Both Mr. Viswanathan and Mr. Arruthra Venugopaal gave away degrees to the new graduates. A total of 17 Anna University rank holders, including a gold medallist, were honoured with special awards. P.S.S. Srinivasan, Principal, KIOT, and A. Stephen, Director, KBSS, presented the reports.

R.N. Kasthuri, Vice-Chairman, Appaswamy Group of Companies; Chennai and Puducherry, was the chief guest at the Graduation Day at the Sengunthar Educational Institutions, Tiruchengode. In his convocation address, Mr. Kasthuri called upon the new graduates to work hard with determination for building a bright future. He gave away degrees to 522 under-graduate and post-graduate students who graduated from the Sengunthar Engineering College, Sengunthar College of Engineering and Sengunthar B-School for Women. A total of 28 Anna University rank holders, including a gold medallist, were among the candidates who received the degrees on the occasion. T.S. Natarajan, Chairman, Sengunthar Institutions, presided over the function, held in the presence of treasurer M.K. Dhanasekaran. Principals C. Venkatesh, (Sengunthar Engineering College), R. Sathish Kumar (Sengunthar College of Engineering and H. Mohana Sundaram, Director, Sengunthar B-School for Women, presented the reports highlighting the important achievements of the college in academics, sports and other varied extra-curricular activities.

S. Ganesan, Registrar, Anna University, Chennai, was the chief guest at the Graduation Day at the Muthayammal Educational Institutions, Rasipuram in Namakkal district recently. Dr. Ganesan insisted that students must focus on their goal and rather on the path. K. Purushothaman, Senior Director, NASSCOM, in his special address mentioned that students should utilize every moment of the day to achieve better position in their life. S. Nirmala, Principal, Muthayammal Engineering College, presented the report. K. Gunasekaran, Secretary, Muthayammal Educational Trust and Research Foundation presided. Dr. S. Selvarajan, Principal, Muthayammal College of Engineering administered the pledge.

The students of J.K.K. Nattraja Dental College, Komarapalayam, Namakkal district, excelled at the national level confernce ‘Mokshaa 2015’ organised by the Sri Venkateswara College and Hospital for two days recently. The students won the overall trophies in academics, sports and cultural events. Student teams from 27 colleges all over the south India participated in the conference and the students of J.K.K. Nattraja Dental College bagged the title of “MOKSHAA 2015” with their brilliant performance. Chairperson fo the college Sendamarrai, Managing Director S Ommsharravana, and Principal of J.K.K. Nattaraja Dental College felicitated the award winning students.

The KSR Institute for Engineering and Technology, Tiruchengode, organised its maiden Placement Day recently. Timothy Samson, HR (Recruitment Head) of Tech Mahindra and G .Rajagopal, Chief Executive, HCG Milann distributed the offer letters to 212 students and addressed the gathering on the industry expectations. The successful students were place in reputed companies such as Wipro, Accenture, Tech Mahindra and CTS. K. S. Rangasamy, Founder Chairman, KSR Educational Institutions, presided over the event. Vijayakrishna Placcard, CEO, Talent to Success and N.C. Balachander, Director, KSR Educational Institutions felicitated the successful students. on.

The Placement Day was celebrated in Gnanamani Educational Institutions. The Chairperson P.Malaleena lighted the Kuttuvillakku and inaugurated the ceremony. T. Arangannal, Chairman, Gnanamani Educational Institutions, delivered the key-note address. C. Gopinath, CEO, Taalkshop Academy, was the chief guest. The Chief Executive Officer K. Vivekanandan, Administrative Officer P.Premkumar and the engineering college principles A. Sabanayagam and B.Sanjay Gandhi offered felicitations.

Students got orders from from Wipro, Accenture, E-mphasis, IBM, CTS, Adithya Birla, Tech Mahendra, HCL, Kumaran Systems, Colgate, Coca-Cola, Omega Health care and 64 other companies.

Industry Day was celebrated at Sona College of Technology, Salem, recently, when placement orders were distributed to the students who were placed in various concerns. Tamilmani, Scientist and Director General (Aeronautical systems), Department of Defence (R and D), Ministry of Defence, said that Indian youths formed a majority among those employed in USA and other developed countries. Rajendran, ZOHO Systems, urged the students who were successful in getting offer letters to accord importance for maintaining a work life balance. Valliappa, Chairman, Sona Group of Institutions, Chocko and Thiyagu, vice-chairmen, Jayaprakash, Principal, offered felicitations.

More than 1,000 candidates received their degrees at the Graduation Day at AVS College of Arts and Science. K. Kailasam, Chairman, presided over the function.

C. Swaminathan, Vice-Chancellor, Periyar University, was the chief guest and he urged the students to focus their complete attention on studies. . K.A. Murugesan, Dean, I. Carmel Mercy Priya, Principal, offered felicitations.

The Annual Day of Sri Vidya Mandir College of Arts and Science, Neikkarapatti in Salem district, was celebrated with pomp. P. Rajeswaran, industrialist, was the chief guest.

Krishna Reddy, Chairman of the college, presided and K. Shanmugam, principal, presented the annual day report.
