Yercaud Flower Festival on June 6, 7

The Yercaud Flower Festival will be held at Anna Park in Yercaud on June 6 and 7.

Collector K. Maharabushanam said that 30,000 rose and carnation flowers would be used for making replica of birds, elephant and India Gate which is expected to be a major attraction. Also, the Horticulture Department would use about five lakh flowers to create 200 galleries and other exhibits.

About 10,000 flowers would be kept on display. Vegetables and fruits grown in the district would also be kept on display during the two-day festival. Demonstration on roof-gardening would also be done during the festival. Cultural programmes, competitions like boat race, dog shows and competitions for women would not be held during the festival. Sources said that even Ministers are not expected to participate in the inauguration on Saturday.
