Woman commits suicide

Fearing that she would be questioned by the police about the recovered money from her husband’s house, a woman committed suicide here on Tuesday.

Recently, two pepper traders from Kerala were robbed of Rs. 24.40 lakh near Panamarathupatty by an unidentified gang. Mallur police registered a case and arrested nine persons and recovered Rs. 22.98 lakh.

Ilayaraja is said to be the mastermind behind the robbery and police are on the lookout for him. He was married to Yasoda. The police raided the house of Illayaraja in Kanavaikadu and recovered Rs. 9 lakh kept in the house. Fearing that the police may inquire her, Yasoda committed suicide at her parent’s home on Tuesday night. Kondalampatti police registered a case.
