Welfare dept. now wants proof for mental illness

Mentally Retarded (MR) and severely disabled people who receive maintenance assistance from Differently Abled Welfare Department in Tiruvannamalai district are asked to submit certain proofs if they wished to to get continued assistance.

Necessary documents

“Photocopies of joint account passbook of beneficiary, National Differently Abled Identity Card and ration card apart from the original of survival certificate from VAO and passport size photo of the beneficiary are should be submitted to District Differently Abled Welfare Office located in Tiruvannamalai collectorate complex within seven days.

Parents or guardians should come in person to submit these proofs.

They need not take the beneficiary along with them,” a press release from the District Collector A.Gnanasekaran added.
