Even while welcoming the Madras High Court directive on the mandatory use of helmets while riding two-wheelers in the State from July 1, the Helmet Club urged the two-wheeler riders to use only on the certified helmets.
Fatal accidents, particularly involving two-wheelers, are on the rise in the State. Many people lose their precious lives just due to their sheer negligence and failure to adhere to road rules. Using helmets will go a long way in saving the precious lives involving two-wheeler riders in road accidents, a resolution adopted at a meeting of the club held here recently said.
People should also take adequate caution in procuring the right size helmet for them and their family members, who too have to use helmets as pillion riders. A. Santhakumar, president of the Helmet Club, presided.
